Today's Word from Pastor Alex
One of the key spiritual practices for those who wish to follow Jesus is the discipline of opening our hearts daily to God by reading scripture. However, because so many of us struggle to maintain that discipline, our pastor is eager to share a few thoughts from his interaction with the Bible through his daily devotional, "Today's Word from Pastor Alex."
Published almost every weekday, "Today's Word" is drawn from one of the passages that is assigned in the Book of Common Prayer's Daily Office Lectionary--a "schedule" of readings that provides a psalm, an Old Testament passage, a New Testament epistle passage, and a gospel passage for each day. Because the devotional is necessarily brief, the Pastor Alex tries to focus on offering encouragement and reflections that are well-suited to start the day.
